Good afternoon, fellow simmers.
All was well since 2015. My mods were working perfectly. My game was working perfectly. Even if a mod did not work, it had no severe effect on my game.
However, recently, somewhere between the update to version 1.16.61.1020 and the update to version 1.17.7.1020, I have literally been unable to access my Sims game.
The game would do one of two things: (1) While on the screen with the giant Sims 4 logo, I would get a never ending Not Responding screen or (2) I would get into the game perfectly fine and then the actions I queue would disappear and, of course, the action would not be completed.
In summary, ever since recent updates I have not been able to play my Sims with ANY types of mods. Therefore, of course, removing all mods makes the game work perfectly fine. I've tried to add in small groups of mods and it worked for a while and then started messing up again. I even switched my mod sources to strictly recent mods (Mods posted December 2015 to current) on The Sims Resource and still no avail.
Is anyone else having a problem similar to this one and are there any solutions to this type of problem?

    1. Download the latest tModLoader: Download Page
    2. Extract the folder you downloaded.
    3. Install:
      • Run the installer.jar file. If that doesn't work, follow the instructions in readme.txt
    4. Start Terraria as normal, you should see extra menu options.
    • Mods are files with the '.tmod' extension. They go in the Mods directory.
      • Windows: %UserProfile%DocumentsMy GamesTerrariaModLoaderMods
      • Linux: ~/.local/share/Terraria/ModLoader/Mods OR $XDG_DATA_HOME/Terraria
      • Mac: /Users/account/Library/Application Support/Terraria
    • Most mods are hosted in the 'Mod Browser'. You can easily browse mods and use the download button to download mods. Downloaded mods aren't enabled by default.
    • You can also find mods in other places and add them to the Mods folder, this is useful when the Mod Browser is down or the mod is too big for the Mod Browser.

Use the Mods menu to set the mods you wish to use, then click reload.

tModloader will not connect to non-tModLoader Terraria servers. If you want to play together, you must either revert to vanilla, or your friends must install tModLoader.
